The name

It is written YébenesDev, one word, capital Y and D, with an acute accent on the first e; the domain and handles drop the accent (yebenes.dev, @YebenesDev). It is pronounced YEH-beh-ness, stress on the first syllable; ‘Dev’ as in English. Jose, no accent, is pronounced HO-seh and is not translated. In prose: ‘a YébenesDev app’, ‘made by YébenesDev’.

Who is behind it

Short bio

Jose (José Antonio Yébenes Gálvez) is a telecommunications engineer who works on embedded systems. Outside work he makes calm apps from Spain, on his own, native and with Flutter, and signs them as YébenesDev. His first app is Kanso Space, published on the App Store in September 2026.

Long bio

José Antonio Yébenes Gálvez, Jose, is a Spanish telecommunications engineer with a master’s degree in embedded systems engineering for smart environments, and he works on embedded systems. He learned to write Android apps in Java at 16. Outside work he designs printed circuit boards and makes apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, native and with Flutter, on his own: design, code, store and support. He wants each app to do a single thing and do it calmly, with no ads and no selling of data. He signs his work as YébenesDev and shows how it is made on his YouTube channel. His first app, Kanso Space, keeps whatever the user shares to it, sorts it with AI and answers questions about it; it was published on the App Store on 25 September 2026.
